It's not a shocking news - your goodwill does not do any good to you back. Seriously.

Helping other people who need your used car more than you do is consider very very helpful. It's a life-saving for others because your donated car can help them earning more income by doing more activities, they can go extra mile reaching the community for help, or they can sell the car for other charitable purposes. It does feel good knowing your car do good deed on behalf of you~~ ;-)
In this modern world, your good gesture sometimes pays you big time, but sometimes you might get nothing at all. Don't expect you'll get returned each time you lend your hands, but by donating a car, you should be able to get your tax deducted according to the amount of your donation. (T&C applies~) But sometimes just by donating your car you probably won't get anything back.
The reason behind this is your donated cars for your preferred charity is not in the list of IRS-recognized charity. There is a lot of charity body out there, but only those who have been recognized by IRS is eligible to get your taxes deducted. Several reasons to explain this is that charity organizations recognized by IRS is already been verified by them legal to carry out charitable activities, and they also have filed their annual returns successfully and this is to ensure that our contributions is safe from unknown or shady organizations.
For more information on what you can do to get your tax deducted by donating your car to charity, read about it in MSN money >>
